Council Signs Missing
Last modified: October 30, 2009 - 12:44 AM
Over recent months there have been a number of permanent signs and temporary traffic control going missing from roadsides.
This can not only be an inconvenience but can be dangerous to those who are unaware of the conditions of the roads.
Some of the signage to go missing are 'chevrons' which indicate the tightness of the approaching corner. These signs going missing leave the particular roadside absent of such warnings, which could present a danger to unsuspecting motorists.
In addition, the replacement of such signs and devices is a cost to Wollondilly Shire Council, reducing the amount of funds available for other areas of maintenance.
If you notice signs missing please report to Wollondilly Shire Council on 4677 1100. If you notice this kind of theft or vandalism please contact the Picton Police on 4677 8999. In case of emergency always contact the emergency services by phoning 000.
